November Pause Log...Last Log Entry

21 Spring Dawning 671

The group now accompanied by the Druid Corryn, was caught in a deadly fight with two ogres. Yrin was killed, Hador and Hugo were down and dying. Corryn, his magic exhausted made a valiant stand wielding his quarterstaff. He knew that his death was eminate, but he fought anyway.

Be it luck or the blessing of the world itself, Corryn (1lvl Druid) defeated Both Ogres, but lost his pet wolf in the process. He found some healing items among the parties gear and brought Hador and Hugo to life. Sorrow wracked the two warriors as the began to prepare Yrin's body for a funeral in Brindenford. That was when they spotted the strange floating eyes.

Yrin who died suddenly found that he spirit refused to cross completely over into the Ethereal Realm. She also discovered that for some reason Hador could hear her as well. The eye could see Yrin and it was she who had a feeling to follow the strange floating eye.

The party did so, through Yrin telling Hador. They discovered that the eye belonged to a strange creature called a quasta. A quasta is a floating creature with 6 to 8 floating eyes, it has wings to manuever itself. Its body looks like that of a birds' body but with no head. A strange orb hangs down from its body through which it vibrates to talk. Also several finger-like hooks that it manipulates like a hand and fingers.

The quasta's name was Aquii and he was in need of help from the PCs. In exchange for their help he could restore Yrin to life. He led them to a cave that was hidden behind an illusionary wall. Inside the Party met a human warrior in strange armor who was badly injured. His name was Edge von Bek and he needed the party to deliver an undescribed wagon of goods to Brindenford, Havengaard and an outpost beyond Northgate. He said the Aquii would be able to temporarily restore life to Yrin, and if they made it to the last stop someone could make her live permanently again.

With little choice they agreed. Aquii performed a strange surgery on Yrin and implanted a symbiotic creature inside her called a Trauma Symbiot which gave her temporary life. With the deal sealed, Edge had a wagon filled, and made sure Aquii traveled along with them to keep watch on the stuff.

Upon arrival to Brindenford, the Party discovered the entire town guard had been dissolved and replaced with Prince Tesrin's personal guard. Under his 'protection' the entire town was locked down and it didn't take long for the party to find that the knights were abusive to the populous. Also to the parties dismay, Sir Johnathan Windimere was brought upon charges of murdering the Mayor's Daughter Saria, who he was said to be involved with.

The party met with a dwarf named Glavic, a dour dwarf with a blonde beard and strange runic wiring implaced in him called spellware. Glavic found out that Aquii who was with them was a bit of a chatter box and told the party more than he should have. Although not a good thing for their cause, Glavic decided to use the group to help break Johnathan from prison. Hador, Yrin, and Hugo readily agreed, and Corryn decided to help in good faith of the others.

They then learned many chilling facts about the situation of their world. That a galactic empire was in the process of bring the world of Terris into it's domain. Glavic was part of the Bronze Legion of Handor, and was working with a group of paladins called the Special Outlands Army Recon or SOLAR, and Edge was a hired mercenary company used to transport supplies. They were tasked with the mission of stopping a group of drow from conscripting the world into the Red Legion of Mazogrim.

Part of the plan was to assist Johnathan in restoring the credibility of the Havengaard Council and use it as a basis for an independent governing body within the empire. Not liking the options presented the party agrees to help for the sake of Johnathan.
